The Albanian Archdiocese is proud this year to extend a warm welcome and an invitation to Orthodox Christians, age 18 and older, who are willing to commit to participating in the camping ministry of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.
Scholarships have been set aside from our archdiocesan Theological Student Fund to cover all travel and miscellaneous expenses to and from Albania, where participants will join the staff of the Church of Albania’s department of Youth Education and local seminarians and catechists in offering week-long residential religious and recreational programming for children. These camps will take place in the Metropolis of Korça in Southern Albania in the historic monasteries of the villages of Bobshtica and Voskopoja. Counselors will first travel to Boston Saturday July 18 to participate in an orientation before departing for Albania on Monday July 20. Counselors will return to the US Saturday August 1.
The application process has now closed for Summer 2026. At this time, we do anticipate the same opportunity for the Summer 2027; please check back in January 2027 for that application cycle. Applicants for Summer 2027 must be Orthodox Christians, age 18 and older, with a passport valid through summer 2028. Though sponsored by the Albanian Archdiocese, applicants may be an active member of a parish of any canonical Orthodox diocese/jurisdiction. Successful completion of background will be required prior to final decision.
